Dorothy Jane Poe, 94, of Decatur, IL passed away at 7:48 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 27, 2011) at St. Mary’s Hospital.
A graveside service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 1, 2011) at Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday (Jan. 31, 2011) at Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. Casual attire is requested by the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Dorothy was born on November 5, 1916 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Oscar and Myrtle (Leech) VanHall. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School and retired after several years from Griggoliet. She was a former member of Third United Methodist Church and was an avid Illini fan. Dorothy enjoyed travel, ballroom dancing at Play Mor Danceland in Pana, IL and especially doing a specialty dance to the tune of “Tequila”. She lived a long, loving, happy life and will be missed greatly by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her children: John G. Davies of Hanover, PA, Patricia (Robert) Miller of Erie, CO, James (Louise) Davies of Cookeville, TN and Win (Barb) Davies of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Jason (Paula) Maguire, Donald “Jamie” (Angie) Davies, Melanie (Gabriel) Manzo, Tricia Davies and Heather Davies; seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Harold Randall and Hallie Poe as well as her parents, one brother and four sisters.

You were always so happy, never had a bad word to say about others. You loved to dance. We helped you put on your dancing shoes Sat nights at the Moose b/c you always sat with us at table 34A. We will Miss you, already have, and will keep loving you. The bands (at the Moose) all are playing Tiquila in Memory of you Dorothy. Dance to your heart's content now.
